Special Series

West Virginia University Press publishes a wide range of materials including fiction, Appalachian history, African American literature and scholarly journals. Since its founding in the 1960s, West Virginia University Press has been a major source of information about the coal-mining industry and the history of the state. HEB presents two series from the press's catalog: Medieval European Studies and West Virginia and Appalachia. Edited by Dr. Patrick W. Conner, Medieval European Studies represents contemporary developments in the best scholarship in English on the culture and history of Europe throughout the medieval period. The series includes original works of scholarly significance, newly edited texts and newly corrected and annotated editions of earlier scholarship of continuing use to scholars and students. The West Virginia and Appalachia series is dedicated to publishing works on the history and culture of West Virginia and its region. This series publishes the best of a new generation of scholarship, integrating the historical and cultural experience of West Virginia and Appalachia into comparative regional, national and international contexts. The series is edited by Kevin Barksdale, Ken Fones-Wolf and Ronald L. Lewis.

The titles in this series are designated by their series logo.
